BAJA MX | BEACH STUDIO

A remote beachfront site requiring a rugged and adaptable structure became an opportunity to research local materials and primitive form. The client brief was to master plan a property and strategically phase the construction. The first structure became the nerve center for future constructions and the initial hub for living and working in a remote outpost on Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. Concrete and a local hardwood become the essential materials for a studio that can operate as an open-air pavilion when in use and then can shut down for extended periods of vacancy.
